ATLANTA -
Atlanta City Councilmember Kwanza Hall sponsored the annual "Year of the Boulevard" in the city's Old Fourth Ward on Thursday.
Hall sponsors the yearly event to celebrate achievements in a community with lots of challenges and to look ahead.
A full house came together for the progress report at Tabernacle Baptist Church.
Community leaders say they've made headway despite families there living in a high concentration of poverty.
Program leaders say a new APD precinct at Atlanta Medical Center, summer school programs and other initiatives have helped reduce crime there by more than 14 percent.
