Durbin will advance Ill. leaders` gun control ideas to Congress

CHICAGO (FOX 32 News) -
Senator Dick Durbin hosted a listening session earlier Thursday with local leaders and law enforcement to talk about gun violence in their communities.
They also discussed recommendations on what Congress can do to help fight gun crime. Vice President Biden will reportedly deliver his gun recommendations to President Obama by Tuesday.
Chicago Police Superintendent Garry McCarthy and Cook County Sheriff Tom Dart were in attendance.
More than 500 people were murdered in Chicago last year - a number the city has not reached since 2008.
