FOX 29 News has learned a young child died of the flu in the Lehigh Valley area.
A Lehigh Valley Hospital Network spokesperson confirms the child died over the weekend.
The Centers for Disease Control and Prevention reports this year is now one of the worst flu seasons in years.
The flu outbreak in the Lehigh Valley area was so high, hospital officials at Lehigh Valley Hospital Network established a special triage tent to handle incoming flu cases.
