A little girl was reunited with her pony on Thursday.
Dianna Casa was heartbroken after her pony, Princess, went missing last Thursday. The pony was a Christmas present.
Jose Casa, Dianna's father, says Princess got out of their barn when strong winds blew the doors open last week. For days, the family says they searched the rural country side, but found cows and farmland – no Princess.
Volunteer fireman Mickee Smith said he retrieved Princess from Herman C. Michael Park after the sheriff's office received a call about a loose horse.
"They called me because I have horses and wanted to know did I have a horse missing and I didn't," Smith said.
The Casa finally reunited with Princess after contacting the Oconee County Sheriff's Office. The family says they'll return to the Smiths' house on Friday with a horse trailer to retrieve Princess and take her back home.
