DETROIT (WJBK) -- It has been nearly a month since a quadruple murder on Detroit's east side. Wednesday, the victims' families reached out to the public to help find the killer or killers.
34-year-old Dyrelle Davis, 22-year-old Janetta Harris, 28-year-old Jason Koester and 16-year-old Shawn Bender were all murdered December 4. They were shot to death execution style. Their bodies were found inside a house on Tacoma at Brock Avenue. Less than 24 hours later, firefighters were called to the house after someone set it on fire.
"To be shot in a bed unarmed in the head, it's beyond words," said mother Lucy Koester.
"They weren't animals. They were people. They were loved, and we loved them dearly. You had no right to take them away," said mother Shelia Davis.
"Every day going back it gets worse," said Chris Funches, Janetta Harris' sister. "We're having such a hard time. We can't sleep. We can't eat. We can't do nothing. We need help."
If you know anything about this quadruple murder, call 1-800-SPEAK-UP. Crime Stoppers is offering a $2,500 reward for the tip that leads to an arrest. The reward increases to $3,500 if the tip is received by midnight Thursday.
