New Year's eve fireworks caused a blind man's guide dog to run away, but after getting some help from the Apache Junction Police Department, the man and his dog had a happy reunion.
Michael Birenbaum had his guide dog for two and a half years, but on Monday night, his German Shepherd, Levi, ran off.
Michael spent all night waiting outside, hoping the dog would return, but he didn't. Since Levi is a service dog, Birenbaum was able to file a missing person report.
Then Michael got the call he was waiting for -- someone found Levi.
"My spirits were lifted. I don't know how to describe it..the sadness left my heart and I'm happy again," said Michael.
FOX 10's Dan Spindle was there for the reunion.
