Police officers will patrol all schools in Marlboro, New Jersey starting Wednesday following the deadly shootings in Newtown, Conn. last month.

The officers will question each person entering the schools from the time the buses arrive until the students leave, according to the Marlboro Township Schools website.

All eight schools in the Monmouth County school district will be patrolled during school hours for the next three months while a less expensive security alternative is devised.

"It's not new for us. We used to have one officer for every two schools. It was back to two officers for the whole district," said Superintendent David Abbot.

"I think it's a good idea after the shooting in Connecticut," a parent told Fox 5 News.

In the past, NJ Gov. Chris Christie has come out against armed guards at schools.
