It's a new year! So how do you kick it off on a positive note, and maybe keep you resolutions throughout 2013?

Author and motivational speaker Jim Smith Jr. wrote the book "The No-Excuse Guide to Success."

He stopped by "Good Day" on Tuesday morning to offer these tips.

1. You have to see it and believe it to be it!

2. Move from interested to committed.

3. Start fast... you've put it off long enough.

4. Use tangible reminders.

5. More Titans and less Titanics.
