Can't find anything? Get organized!

ATLANTA -

There's nothing like a new year to inspire a clean slate. If you're sick and tired of not being able to find anything, then it's time to get organized.

Melinda Anderson of Southern Home Organizers says taking a little time now will save you a lot later. She says to look at your home like you would your local target or Walmart.

"If you think about it, most of the things in your home you bought at a store. So if you organize your home in departments, it really does help you to find things," said Anderson.

Getting your home organized will take time. She says the first step is sorting. As you remove items from a drawer or a closet, put all like items together.

Sorting takes the most time but it's worth it in the end. You find out exactly what you have and how much of it. Then you can begin to decide what to keep. How long it will take to organize a room or a closet depends on its size, and how much clutter there is to straighten out.

Anderson says it's always good to organize with another person so you can share ideas. If you don't have a buddy, it's always worth it to hire a professional. For more information visit, click here!
