PHILADELPHIA -

Just weeks after a devastating fire threatened to destroy a New Year's Day tradition, members of the Fralinger String Band say they're ready to strut up Broad Street for the Mummers Parade.

The stage is almost set for the 2013 Mummers Parade and the bleachers are in place along Broad Street where the comics and string bands will march beginning at 10 a.m.

The Fralinger String Band, one of the groups marching Tuesday, nearly lost their props when a warehouse caught fire in South Philly.

Members say some of their props and costumes suffered smoke and water damage, forcing the group to work fast to prepare for Tuesday's parade.

As many as 10,000 are expected to march in the parade. For most of them, New Year's Eve is more like Christmas Eve.
