Traffic was light Wednesday morning, but one little commuter was still in a bit of a rush.

A baby boy was delivered to Lodi, N.J., resident Soukaina Nekhlaoui, 25, at the mouth of the Holland Tunnel.

Abdel Elkarhat said he was driving his wife to Lutheran Medical Center in Brooklyn, heading through the tunnel at about 6:45 a.m., when her labor advanced faster than expected. "I didn't know if I should stop inside the tunnel or just keep moving until I got out."

He kept moving, stopping at the tunnel exit to seek help.

Port Authority Tunnel and Bridge Officer George McCann, who is trained for emergency medical response, helped deliver the child.

Baby Nassim Mohammed Elkarhat and his mother were in good condition at New York Downtown Medical Center.
