Bauman and BaldwinMESA, Ariz. (AP) - Authorities say two carpet cleaners are accused of stealing more than $30,000 in jewelry from homes around the Phoenix metropolitan area.
Mesa police say Justin Bauman and Keith Baldwin are being held on suspicion of theft and trafficking in stolen property.
Police didn't immediately provide information Thursday on the men's ages and hometowns.
Bauman and Baldwin allegedly stole jewelry from customers' homes to sell as scrap metal between July and December.
Police say the men have admitted to stealing from multiple customers in Phoenix, Scottsdale and Fountain Hills.
They say six customers have been identified as victims who discovered jewelry missing after having their carpets cleaned by the suspects.
The owner of the cleaning business says he was unaware of the thefts and has been cooperating with the police investigation.
