Ramsey In Washington D.C. To Discuss Gun Control

Posted: Updated:

Philadelphia Police Commissioner Charles Ramsey met with Vice President Joe Biden Thursday in Washington D.C. as part of a new commission to discuss gun control.

Ramsey was named to the national team by President Obama. The team's goal is to find ways to prevent gun violence.

The President has set a January deadline for the group to come up with a plan.

Ramsey's meeting comes after a deadly night in Philadelphia.

Police say four people were shot in just a 24-hour span, including a robbery that ended in gunfire in the city's Juniata section and a shooting in South Philadelphia where an innocent woman was caught in gunfire on her way home from work.

The commission, led by Vice President Biden, was created in wake of last week's shooting in Newtown, Conn. The group includes law enforcement members from several cities nationwide.;
