1 of 3 "Fast Food Bandits" sentenced to prison

PHOENIX (AP) - 1 of 3 men accused in a string of fast-food restaurant robberies in the Phoenix metropolitan area has been sentenced to four years in prison.

Maricopa County prosecutors say Christopher Kimball was sentenced Wednesday to three concurrent 4-year prison terms. He pleaded guilty to four counts of armed robbery in September.

Prosecutors say Kimball will be sentenced on the remaining armed robbery count after the trial of a co-defendant is completed this spring.

They say Kimball and two other Phoenix men were dubbed the "Fast Food Bandits" after seven known robberies of fast-food restaurants between September and November 2011.

The three suspects were arrested in January.

Authorities accused Kimball of being involved in 2 of the robberies. The third suspect already has pleaded guilty to three counts of armed robbery.
