Reality TV star raises money for 5-year-old boy, PCH

Posted: Updated:

A former "Bachelorette" contestant, and Scottsdale resident, is raising money for a 5-year-old boy and Phoenix Children's Hospital on Friday.

Arie Luyendyk Jr., best known as the charming runner-up on season 8 of "The Bachelorette", is running the P.F. Chang's Rock 'n' Roll half marathon on behalf of a little boy named Ethan.

Ethan was diagnosed at 4-months-old with Congenital Nephrotic Syndrome and has since had both kidneys removed and is currently on peritoneal dialysis.

Arie had a goal of raising $1,250 for Ethan and PCH, but has already surpassed it by over $1,000.

He's hoping to raise even more money for his Miracles in Motion team at an event at DollHouse Lounge in Scottsdale on Friday. He'll be joined by fellow "Bachelorette" alum, Jef Holm.

Any and all donations will be accepted at the event.
