TEMPE, Ariz. (AP) - Authorities say it may take several more days to positively identify a body recovered from the Salt River near the spot where an Arizona State University student was last seen.
A private search group on Sunday spotted a body floating in the river near where 1 of 19-year-old Jack Culolias' shoes was found about two weeks ago.
Culolias was last seen Nov. 30 after being kicked out of a Tempe bar during a fraternity party and police say the freshman was suspected of being drunk.
Tempe police say the body pulled from the water was wearing a single red shoe, leading to the "strong possibility" that the body is that of Culolias.
But Sgt. Mike Pooley says the Maricopa County Medical Examiner still hadn't identified the body as of Monday.
