Rebecca GomezTUCSON, Ariz. (AP) - Pima County sheriff's deputies say they discovered a stabbing victim in a pickup truck while working a sobriety checkpoint in the Tucson area.
Deputies say they immediately noticed a large amount of blood on the pickup's driver side door. They began investigating after seeing blood dripping from the arm of the man sitting in the passenger seat.
When they removed the man from the truck, they found several other stab wounds. He was taken to a local hospital for treatment.
Deputies say the stab wounds were the result of an altercation earlier that Saturday night.
Deputies suspected the driver of the truck, 42-year-old Rebecca Gomez, was intoxicated. She was arrested on one count of aggravated DUI for driving under the influence while driving on a suspended or revoked license and two counts of child abuse.
Gomez's two teenage daughters were in the truck.
