Labor dispute over name tags leads to backups on Ambassador Bridge

DETROIT (WJBK) -- Canadian officials say a labor dispute over name tags has caused a major traffic delay for motorists crossing into Canada at the Ambassador Bridge.

FOX 2's Kevin Sanderson says only four booths are open on the bridge's Canadian side, causing delays up to two hours.

The Canada Border Services Agency says the delay is caused by officers who have refused to work because a policy that went into effect Tuesday requires them to wear personalized name tags.

Officials from the union who represents the Canadian border guards said the name tags put the officer's personal safety in danger.
