Kipp High School burglarized, computers stolen

ATLANTA -

Police are investigating the burglary of a private school on Tuesday. They say thieves broke into the Kipp Atlanta Collegiate High School in northwest Atlanta, and made off with approximately $43,500 worth of computers.

According to investigators, the security alarm company monitoring the school's security system notified police that four people were observed on camera, all wearing black hoodies and pants They were seen running away from a loading dock as police units arrived on the scene.

The company tells police the four entered some woods at the rear of the school carrying what appeared to be black plastic trash bags. Police searched the area but no one was found.

During the investigation at the scene, police say they found two windows open and a third window broken. Police then notified school officials, and school maintenance technician James Flagg arrived a short time later.
    
Investigators say the alleged burglars climbed to the second floor and entered a computer lab after a breaking a window and climbing in.

According to police, Flagg made a preliminary inventory of the computer lab which revealed that approximately 30 laptops and five Apple desktop computers were taken from the computer labe. Investigators say they have dusted for fingerprints and are preparing to review surveillance video to help identify suspects.
