MONMOUTH COUNTY, N.J. -

Drivers in New Jersey got more than they bargained for when they pulled up to a Keyport gas station only to find jet fuel in the pumps instead of gasoline.

No one seems to know why a gas delivery truck delivered the jet fuel to the Delta gas station instead of its regular gas.

Police tell FOX they were notified about the gas mix up on Friday and the gas station immediately shut down.

Several customers who filled their tanks say their cars stalled or wouldn't run after they filled up.

According to Monmouth County Weights and Measures, the bulk storage facility which delivered the gas says it was their mistake. Officials say it was not a hazmat issue and that this gas station and others which may have received the mistaken delivery are closed until the fuel is pumped out.
