According to the FAA website, Hartsfield-Jackson International Airport is experiencing weather-related departure delays of 46 minutes to an hour on Monday, December 10.ATLANTA -
High winds and strong storms began moving into Georgia on Monday morning, prompting the National Weather Service to issue a wind advisory for parts of north Georgia.
The wind advisory was effect until 7 p.m. for Chattooga, Fannin, Gilmer, Lumpkin, Towns, Union and White counties.
According to FOX 5 Storm Team meteorologist Jeff Hill, winds gusting as high as 35 mph have been associated with some of the storms.
Some areas experienced intense rain. As of 5 p.m., the heaviest rain was south on I-85 and moving east. Rainfall amounts of 1 to 2 inches were expected for some areas in north and northwest Georgia.
Most of the rain should be done by 8 p.m. as cold air returns, Hill said. The high temperature on Tuesday will only reach around 52, while the low will be 39.
