27 Disaster Recovery Centers remain open to help Sandy victims

Twenty-seven New York Disaster Recovery Centers remain open to provide one-on-one help to people rebuilding their homes and lives following the Hurricane Sandy.  

Most of the recovery centers are open seven days a week. 

Five weeks after Hurricane Sandy, recovery centers throughout New York have hosted more than 83,000 Sandy victims since November 1.  

The centers have been positioned in various neighborhoods, boroughs and counties and have operated in locations ranging from churches to parks, government buildings, stores and a library.

While visiting a Disaster Recovery Center is a convenient way to seek help from FEMA, it isn't the only way.
