CHICAGO (FOX 32 News) -
One more thing, about politicians in the news.
You might say that lately our public servants haven't exactly been serving the public. Congressman Jesse Jackson Jr.'s troubles, Alderman William Beavers upcoming trial, and state senator Donne Trotter's concealed weapon have monopolized the news.
So let's devote a little time to an elected official we can look up to.
U.S. Sen. Mark Kirk, who suffered a stroke in January, announced Thursday plans to return to the senate floor on Jan. 3, the first day of the new congress.
His determination during a long, hard on-going rehabilitation, his perseverance climbing up the top 37 floors on the Willis Tower, and bravely facing the public as he has slowly been getting back to work have made him an inspiration to those with physical difficulties.
It's also made Senator Kirk that rarest of politicians today, one who is equally admired regardless of your political persuasion.
Maybe if he could get back to work before the end of the year we'd have a better chance of not falling over the fiscal cliff.

Over the weekend, the Tom Cruise sci-fi thriller "Oblivion" was number one at the box office. But the movie I'm talking about wasn't even in the top ten.
