A store employee captured on surveillance video fighting off a robber at a Philadelphia Dunkin Donuts says she felt she had to protect herself and her coworkers.
Philadelphia Police are looking for the man they say attempted to rob two Dunkin Donuts locations within minutes of each other.
Police say the first robbery was reported Sunday around 4:30 a.m. when a man walked into a Dunkin Donuts on the 1300 block of West Olney Avenue and stood at the counter with other customers.
As an employee opened a cash register drawer, police say the suspect jumped over the counter and tried to take money out of the drawer.
As the suspect was on the counter, surveillance video captured employees fighting the man off. police say the suspect then left the store.
The store employee recalled the incident to FOX 29's Chris O'Connell.
FOX 29 is concealing the woman's identity.
Minutes later, at 4:50 a.m., police say the same suspect entered the Dunkin Donuts on the 4700 block of North Broad Street and showed the employees the grip of a handgun.
Police say the man demanded money from the resister.
An employee gave the suspect $125 in cash and he took off, police said.
Investigators describe the suspect as a black man, standing 5'8" to 5'11" tall. Police say the man appeared to be between 20-30 years-old. He had a scar on the left side of his face, thick eyebrows and a light beard.
Police say the man was last seen wearing a black jacket with white or gray patches on the shoulders, a black ski cap, blue shirt and dark colored pants with black boots.
If you see this man, you're asked to call 911 immediately. You can also submit a tip to police by calling 215-686-TIPS (8477).
