Parking in a handicapped spot illegally can be tempting when you're in a hurry, but Phoenix neighbors are keeping an eye on you.
Phoenix Police Department started a task force made up of volunteers to make sure people don't park in handicapped spots illegally.
Volunteers with the "Save Our Space" campaign commit four hours a week to patrol the city of Phoenix and write parking citations.
You may think "It's just five minutes", but you could end up with fines from $288 to as high as
$480.
The campaign hopes to educate people on how important designated parking spots are to the handicapped.
To report violators, call the disabled parking violation hotline at 602-534-SPACE.
