CHICAGO, IL -

When a man takes the prescription drug Viagra, it's usually to enhance personal performance in the bedroom, but apparently some professional football players are taking the drug for another reason.

The speculation started when comments were made by Chicago Bears wide receiver Brandon Marshall, who said he'd heard of guys taking Viagra.

"I'm fortunate enough to be blessed with size and smarts to give me my edge, but some guys, they'll do whatever they can to get an edge," Marshall said.

"I've heard crazy stories, I've heard guys using like, Viagra. Seriously, because blood supposedly thins, I don't know."

A doctor in Chicago said he's even heard of soccer players taking the drug.

The NFL says, as of now, Viagra is not banned.
