Mesa Police have arrested a 48-year-old man who they say broke in and burglarized a Fry's store while it was closed for Thanksgiving.
Robert Lheureux was captured on surveillance video inside the Fry's store at Main and Greenfield. He took TVs, iPods, video game consoles, and other electronics, valued at over $10,000, according to police.
He also allegedly made off with cash and cigarettes.
Officers who examined the video recognized Lheureux from a past case because of his distinctive tattoos.
Sunday, Lheureux was located and arrested. He denied stealing anything and said he was in the store to buy items and then left. But a search warrant was issued and inside his home, officers found some of the stolen goods.
Police also say they found methamphetamine in Lheureux's bedroom, along with knives and brass knuckles.
He eventually admitted to the burglary and said he had already traded some of the stolen items, detectives say.
According to court documents, Lheureux is out on bond in connection to another theft case. He is a convicted felon who is prohibited from possessing deadly weapons.
Lheureux was booked into jail on charges of trafficking in stolen property, theft, burglary, drug possession, and prohibited possessor.
