PHILADELPHIA -
Eagles wide receiver DeSean Jackson is being placed on injured reserve after being hurt during Monday night's loss to the Carolina Panthers.
Eagles head coach Andy Reid said during his news conference Tuesday at noon that Jackson is being placed on the injured reserve list.
"DeSean Jackson actually fractured a couple ribs up high in his chest. We'll put him on IR today," Reid said.
The Eagles' loss to the Panthers was their seventh straight, and the team now sits at 3-8, last in the National Football Conference.
The team has already been without starting quarterback Michael Vick and starting running back LeSean McCoy, both of whom are trying to recover from concussions.
Only one offensive lineman has started every game for the Birds this season.
Now, they figure to be without their No. 1 wide receiver for the rest of the way.
Reid said rookie quarterback Nick Foles figures to be starting again Sunday night against the Dallas Cowboys.
He also said during his news conference that offensive tackle Jason Peters will not be activated Tuesday, so he will go back on the IR. Peters ruptured his Achilles tendon twice in the offseason.
