Long Island college student arrested in stabbing

STONY BROOK, N.Y. (AP) - A student at Stony Brook University on Long Island has been arrested in the stabbing of another student.

Newsday reports that university police sent out a campus-wide letter about the stabbing.

The letter said that a student reported being stabbed in the abdomen at around 2 a.m. Saturday.

The victim was treated at the university hospital. A suspect was later arrested,

The letter from Chief Robert J. Lenahan of the university police did not identify either the victim or the suspect but said both were Stony Brook students.
