Robert DonevskiIt's a big honor for a fallen valley soldier. Robert Donevski saved his whole unit -- 22 lives. He was honored by the city of Peoria Monday night.
Donevski was just 19 when he died in 2010 during his first tour. Donevski's unit was ambushed while patrolling in Abad, Afghanistan. He fired on insurgents while the others in his unit took cover.
There was a standing ovation for Donevski, who has 15 medals, including the Silver Star he received in May 2010.
Donevski followed in the footsteps of his father, a Vietnam vet. He's believed to be the most decorated soldier from Arizona since Vietnam.
He is being considered for a Medal of Honor, the highest military award.
FOX 10's Jill Monier has more.
