TUCSON, Ariz. (AP) - Authorities in Pima County say a 30-year-old man has been arrested on a charge of operating a chop shop.
The Pima County Sheriff's Department says they discovered the chop shop while investigating the burglary of a home Wednesday in which weapons, jewelry, a computer and other items totaling nearly $29,000 in value had been stolen.
The agency says it was led to another home owned by 30-year-old Gary Lynn Nixon during the investigation.
Investigators say a search of the home turned up several laptops and four stolen vehicles that were in various stages of disassembly.
Nixon was booked on four counts of theft of a means of transportation and one count of owning or operating a chop shop.
