Just one day after the election, it seems everyone is ready to move forward and let the political past lie.
FOX 9 News set out to see wither people were still talking politics after going to the polls, and found a very common theme -- any commercial that isn't a political ad is an improvement.
Now that the biggest day in American politics is in the history books, people seem to be looking forward to a much-needed holiday.
"It's like you want to focus on Thanksgiving and Christmas," explained 16-year-old Mariah Soto. "We want to hang out with friends -- not have debates."
At Target Center, superfans are ready to focus on a team that isn't competing for votes. With all the election buzz, many Minnesotans may not even know that the Timberwolves are 2-1 going into Wednesday's game.
One thing is certain: Now that the election is over, everyone hopes Congress can get along and fix some of the issues facing this country. In fact, coming together to find compromise was a central theme on Facebook -- along with urging disappointed voters to get over it and get back to moving on with life.
