Prescott Valley Police have arrested a 57-year-old man who they say fought with officers who suspected he was impaired.
Officers responded to an injury collision Monday evening and spoke to one of the drivers involved, 57-year-old Steve Gibson.
Officers observed symptoms of possible impairment and began questioning Gibson.
Gibson allegedly became angry at the line of questioning and took an aggressive stance with the officer.
Officers attempted to take Gibson into custody and he fought with them, punching a female officer in the face, police said.
Gibson continued to resist but was eventually taken down with a Taser.
While in custody, he was allegedly verbally abusive with officers and claimed he was protecting himself from the female officer.
Gibson also claimed he had a medical condition, PVPD said. Test results on his impairment are pending.
Three officers were treated for injuries -- for a possibly fractured wrist, knee injuries, and a possible concussion and abrasions.
Gibson was booked into the Yavapai County Jail on 3 counts of aggravated assault on a police officer and 1 count of resisting arrest.
