A string of bad decisions has put a valley father behind bars. Mesa Police arrested 21-year-old Sebastian Gomez near Stapley and University over the weekend.
Police say he had been involved in a hit-and-run crash a couple of miles away.
According to officers, at the time of the crash there was a 2-year-old in the car, and an open Budweiser in the cup holder.
Gomez is now facing several charges. He is also reportedly in the country illegally and that is the reason he fled the crash scene.
Gomez was booked into jail on charges of criminal damage, DUI, DUI of .08 or more, aggravated DUI-passenger under 15, failure to stay at the scene of an accident, and open container in vehicle.
