(WJBK) -- Police say they've talked to the "person of interest" seen in a surveillance photo. He was thought to be a possible witness in the case of the I-96 serial shootings. But, now investigators say the man was cooperative and is not connected to the case.

Meanwhile, the investigation continues into as many as 24 shooting incidents that happened between Oct. 16-27 in Oakland, Livingston, Shiawassee and Ingham counties. There have been several reports of shots being fired at vehicles. One person was injured. No one has been arrested, but police tell us they continue to follow leads.

Police describe the suspect as a white male in his late twenties or early thirties. One witness said he appeared "clean-shaven."

Police say its possible the suspect could alter his appearance.

Anyone with information is asked to call Crime Stoppers at 1-800-SPEAK-UP or (248) 624-6114.  There is an reward of $102,000 for a tip resulting in an arrest and conviction.
