PHOENIX (AP) - Arizona Attorney General Tom Horne has pleaded not guilty to a hit & run charge stemming from a minor accident.
Horne was scheduled to be arraigned Friday in Phoenix Municipal Court but his lawyer entered Horne's plea on his behalf several days earlier.
Horne is accused of 1 count of leaving the scene of a collision/unattended vehicle, a class three misdemeanor.
Maricopa County Attorney Bill Montgomery announced Oct. 1 that an FBI investigation into campaign finance matters involving Horne unearthed information about a hit & run accident.
Horne was cited following a Phoenix police investigation.
Horne says he didn't leave his name and address because he didn't see any damage after he backed into a vehicle in a parking garage.
FBI agents who had Horne under surveillance witnessed the accident.
