PHOENIX (AP) - A man accused of trying to lure two young girls into his car in Tempe last year has been sentenced to lifetime probation with sex offender terms.

Maricopa County prosecutors say 31-year-old Joseph Jamie Larosa also was ordered Thursday to register as a sex offender.

Larosa was arrested in September 2011 on suspicion of luring a minor and attempted public sexual indecency.

Police say a man attempted to lure an 11-year-old girl and 13-year-old girl into his car as they were walking to Kyrene Middle School in Tempe.

The girls ignored the man and reported the incident when they arrived at school.

Larosa later was arrested at his Tempe home and booked into jail.
