The bodies of two young boys who were swept away from their mother's arms by floodwaters on Staten Island were found on Thursday.

A 29-year-old woman was trying to drive her two children to a relative's home in Brooklyn as her home became flooded.

Her blue Ford Explorer stalled on Father Capodanno Blvd. and he took her two children from the car in an attempt to find help.

As the water swelled, she lost her grip of her children and they were swept away.  The mother then spent a harrowing night trying to get help.

The bodies of Connor Moore, 4 and Brendan Moore, 2, were found near each other Thursday in a marsh-like area at McLaughlin St. and Olympia Blvd.

Mayor Michael Bloomberg announced Thursday the death toll from superstorm Sandy had grown to 38 in New York City and more were possible.
