More college applications rejected due to Facebook activity

Posted: Updated:
CHICAGO (FOX 32 News) -

More and more colleges are rejecting applications because of questionable activity on Facebook.

Kaplan Test Prep surveyed college admissions officers and found that last year, 12 percent of admissions officers said they found something that negatively impacted the applicant's chances of getting admitted.

This year that number nearly tripled to 35 percent.

Experts said more and more kids are using Tumblr, Instagram and Twitter as well, which is spreading their online footprint.

Lots of those posts show up in Google searches too. Be careful, kids!
