PRESCOTT, Ariz. (AP) - Authorities say a woman suspected of killing her husband in northern Arizona more than a decade ago has been arrested in Indiana.
Prescott police say 61-year-old Jane Leslie Carpenter was taken into custody Monday in Indiana's LaPorte County and booked into jail on suspicion of first-degree murder.
Police say 71-year-old Brent Carpenter was found stabbed and beaten to death inside the Prescott home he shared with his wife on June 4, 2002.
Prescott police investigators traveled to Indiana last weekend and worked with Indiana State Police officials to track down and arrested Jane Carpenter.
Police say they will work with the Yavapai County Attorney's Office for her extradition back to Arizona.
Authorities didn't immediately know whether Jane Carpenter has an attorney yet.
