Detroit police on the scene of a fatal shooting just of I-94 and Conner Tuesday morning.

Fellow cab drivers are distraught after learning one of their friends was gunned down during an attempted robbery on the city's east side.
"This is a good guy, a good friend of mine," said fellow cab driver Larry Lee. "It's sad."
Shots rang out around 4:20 a.m. in the parking lot of the Mobil gas station on the corner of Harper Avenue and Conner St. Police say cab driver Jawan McQueen was approached by two males who tried to rob him at gun point. But what they didn't know was that McQueen also had a gun.
Homicide detectives believe the McQueen and the suspects traded shots. McQueen was fatally struck. Police believe at least one of the suspects was hit after they discovered a trail of blood leading away from the crime scene.
This is the fourth cab driver working in Detroit to be shot in the last month and second to die.
The investigation is ongoing. No further details have been released.
A fund has been established for the family of the cab driver. Donations can be made at the TCF Bank at 17011 Nine Mile Road in Eastpointe.
