PRESCOTT VALLEY, Ariz. -
Two people have been found dead inside a Prescott Valley apartment, and the case is being considered a homicide.
Thursday afternoon, officers responded to a report of shots fired in the 3600 block of Robert Road. The caller reported that there were two victims.
A mother and son were found dead at the scene with obvious signs of trauma. Both are adults.
Prescott Valley Police Sgt. Brandon Bonney says murder-suicide has been ruled out. The victims are not being identified until a next of kin is notified.
Officers detained the woman's other son for questioning because he is believed to have been present during the event.
No arrests have been made.
