There are all kinds of polls out there predicting who will win the presidential election, and 7-11 stores across the country are doing their own unofficial poll -- they're using coffee cups.
And you would be surprised at how accurate it is.
Could something as simple as buying a cup of coffee at 7-11 actually predict who will win the presidential election? Well the last 3 elections it's been spot on.
It had Obama winning in 2008, and Bush both in 2004 and 2000. So I guess the answer is yes.
"Pretty creative on 7-11's part. I love it I think it's great," says customer Amy Burns, who bought an Obama cup.
The whole theory behind it is simple. People pick the cup they want to fill up with a nice hot cup of coffee.
7-11 started selling the cups last week.
"This is people getting a cup of coffee at 7-11, so this is a pretty good sample of the average person, so absolutely," says Jessica Zindel.
Nationally, here in Arizona and in Phoenix, Obama is ahead, but not by a landslide, so you still have time to go out and buy a cup and support the candidate of your choice.
"This is just people trying to show their support in office and I did the same thing."
The cups will be sold through Election Day, November 6th.
