Mark Kelly debuts children's book about space

Former astronaut Mark Kelly is using his experience in space to get kids excited about science.

Kelly has written a children's book called "Moustronaut - Based on a Partially True Story."

He's hoping the book will teach kids the importance of determination.

"You know, we have a pretty big crisis in education in this country. By a lot of standards, we aren't, you know, not even in the top 50 in certain measures. So it's great for kids to have something they're interested in and they tend to be interested in space," said Kelly.

Kelly is married to former Arizona Congresswoman Gabrielle Giffords.

They also wrote a book together about Giffords' recovery from being shot in the head.

The book is in stores Tuesday.
