Peach Springs man pleads guilty in friend's death

KINGMAN, Ariz. (AP) - A Peach Springs man has pleaded guilty to negligent homicide in the death of a friend who was abandoned at a cemetery in 100-degree heat.

The Kingman Daily Miner reports (http://bit.ly/VFjZ6A) that 50-year-old Roland Cook was deemed the most responsible of an intoxicated group of 4 who left 39-year-old Darlene Sinyella at the cemetery near Truxton in June 2011.

Sinyella suffered from diabetes, walked with a cane and was legally blind.

A crew later found Sinyella's body at the cemetery.

Cook could face up to eight years in prison.

Cook was the driver of a caravan of friends and admitted the group downed half a bottle of vodka on the way to the cemetery.

Three others were charged with abuse of a vulnerable adult.

Two have entered into plea agreements.
