Bank robbery suspectA suspect who robbed a bank in Chandler is believed to be responsible for another robbery at a bank near Elliot Road and McClintock Drive on Thursday.
Police say a man went up to a teller at a U.S. Bank branch inside of a Safeway grocery store. He gave the teller a demand note, along with a Safeway grocery bag -- and told the teller not to make this difficult.
The suspect unzipped a notebook he was carrying and showed the teller a gun he had inside it, police said.
After the teller complied and gave the suspect a known amount of cash, he fled the area.
The suspect is described as a Hispanic man, clean shaven, 30 to 35-years-old, 5' 8" tall and between 230 to 250 pounds with bushy eyebrows. He was wearing a maroon ASU baseball cap, prescription glasses, and a long sleeve t-shirt.
Police believe the suspect also robbed a Compass Bank near Ray Road and McClintock Drive on Wednesday.
