Walk for charity brings out 'the walking dead'

Posted: Updated:

The walking dead are taking over downtown Phoenix Friday night to raise money for St. Mary's Food Bank.

Zombies of all shapes and sizes will be seen at the Zombie Charity Walk, part of October's First Fridays.

There will be live bands, prizes for most creative costumes and a king and queen zombie will be crowned.

Brillare Hairdressing Academy, a sponsor of the walk, made Friday zombie client day. The students of the school will be helping clients look like they came straight from a graveyard.

The school's Phoenix and Scottsdale locations will charge $20 for hair and make up services, and a portion of the proceeds will go to St. Mary's Food Bank.
