GLENDALE, Ariz. -

Lino Chavez pled guilty to second degree murder in the death of a 16-year-old girl in April 2011.

Police said 19-year-old Chavez and his friend Jose Apodaca reportedly stole Anita Munoz's laptop computer and caused her to tumble to her death as they took off in their car.

According to court documents, Munoz was in front of her apartment complex office working on her laptop because the office has a Wi-Fi Internet connection and her computer could catch the signal.

A witness told investigators he saw Munoz struggling with a man.

The suspect was able to take her laptop computer from her and run to a waiting car.

Munoz chased the car and was able to grab on to an open window and hang on.

She fell from the car near 67th Avenue and Ocotillo Road and died as a result of severe brain injuries.

Court documents showed Chavez later told detectives he sold Munoz's computer to a girl for $280.

Munoz will be sentenced on Dec. 7.
