YUMA, Ariz. (AP) - A Yuma man is in custody for allegedly threatening a woman and her son with a box cutter.
Yuma police say 36-year-old Chad Diener is being held in the Yuma County Jail on suspicion of aggravated assault.
They say Deiner approached a 40-year-old woman Monday night and allegedly made sexual comments to her.
When the woman refused to talk with Deiner, witnesses say he became agitated. The woman's 8-year-old son told Diener to leave them alone and Diener allegedly pulled out a box cutter and waved it at the child.
Police say the boy's mother stepped in, but was knocked to the ground and suffered blade cuts.
Witnesses chased Diener to an apartment complex. Police took him into custody early Tuesday. Authorities didn't immediately know if Diener has a lawyer.
