A pop star made a visit to the valley Tuesday helping Scottsdale go green.
Singer Jason Mraz teamed up with radio station MIX 96.9 and the Arizona Tree Council to plant trees at the Boy's and Girl's Club of Greater Scottsdale.
It's part of an ongoing effort to leave each city he visits in better condition than when he arrived.
Mraz says it's also a good way to connect with fans while making a positive impact on the community.
"I started to take care of my backyard and I noticed subtle changes. I noticed more wildlife came in my backyard based upon improvements and I thought, you know, I could inspire my next door neighbor. If I can inspire one other person to do the same it could have a ripple effect," Jason Mraz said.
Mraz hopes to lessen the impact of his national tour in each city he visits.
